Our participation in the 7th International Symposium RG ICLHE

On the 28th and 29th of April 2026, our InterGedi researchers Dr Pilar Mur-DueñasDr Vicky Gil and Dr Paula Wood-Borque attended the 7th International Symposium RG ICLHE-Spain. The symposium was organised by the University of Córdoba in collaboration with the Board of GR ICLHE-Spain, UCOidiomas, the research group HUM-1021 Attention to Diversity and Bilingual Education and the Department of English and German Philology at the University of Córdoba.

The focal point of this edition was to map “New horizons in language policy: enabling content and language integration in Higher Education”. The keynote speakers were Prof Heath Rose (University of Oxford) and Prof Ruth Breeze (Universidad de Navarra). To start off the Symposium, Prof Breeze delivered her keynote titled “A bird’s eye view of EMI: driving forces, current challenges and research responses”. The following day, Prof Rose gave his talk, discussing “Integrating Content and Language in Higher Education: Ingredients of Success in English-Medium Contexts”. Both of their abstracts are fully available in the symposium home page. There were also “PhD corners” throughout the event and a round table to conclude, themed on “Language policy in internationalized higher education: strategies, challenges, and impact”.

On the afternoon of Tuesday 28th, Dr Gil presented her paper titled “Responding to change in ICLHE teacher training: Integrating language, pedagogy and technology”, whose abstract can be found here.

Then, on Wednesday 29th, Dr Pilar Mur-Dueñas and Irene Puente delivered their presentation titled “English-medium education teachers’ perceptions of their language skills at a Spanish university: Perceived challenges and readiness”. You can read their abstract here.

We can’t wait to participate in the next edition of this ICLHE RG Spain in Universitat Jaume I en Castelló in 2027!
