Our participation in the 43rd AESLA Conference

Last week, InterGedi members Dr Rosa Lorés, Dr Daniel Pascual and Ana E. Sancho-Ortiz delivered their oral papers in the International AESLA (Asociación Española de Lingüística Aplicada, “Spanish Society for Applied Linguistics”) Conference. It was hosted by the University of Granada and was held between the 15th and the 17th of April 2026. This 43rd edition revolved around Language, variation and identity: linguistic dynamics for rendering society (“Lengua, variación e identidad: dinámicas lingüísticas para representar la sociedad”).
Dr Pascual presented his study on “The construction of expert discourse in Ask-an-Expert websites on climate and nutrition”. You can find out more about his paper here.
Dr Lorés’s paper was titled “Beyond metadiscourse: Discursive interpersonality and audience engagement in digital science communication”. Have a look at her abstract here.
As for Sancho-Ortiz, her paper was centred on “Projecting expertise on Instagram: Interactional discursive mechanisms by physiotherapy macro-influencers”. To learn more about it, click here.
Our InterGedi members had a wonderful time discussing their recent work and benefiting from the knowledge sharing with other peers. Looking forward to the next AESLA Conference!
