InterGEDI participates in SLTED 2026
PhD candidate Luis Martínez-Kleiser and Dr Paula Wood-Borque took part in the Second Language Teacher Education (SLTED) Conference 2026, which was celebrated at the University of Edinburgh (UK) from the 9th to the 11th of September 2026.
The conference theme revolved around “Curriculum change in second language teacher education: Dynamics, flexibility, and transgression”, thus focusing on a wide range of research lines regarding classroom practice, teaching materials and education policy. Contributions welcomed different methodologies and addressed the central topic of curriculum change across different target languages and educational settings.
The conference featured six plenaries, delivered by Florence Bonacina-Pugh (University of Edinburgh), Anne Burns (University of New South Wales), Donald Freeman (University of Michigan), David Gerlach (University of Wuppertal), Silvia Melo-Pfeifer (University of Hamburg) and Vander Tavares (University of Inland Norway).
On Wednesday the 9th, Luis Martínez-Kleiser presented his paper entitled “Using adolescent-targeted science dissemination texts to develop multimodal literacy in the secondary education EFL/CLIL classroom”. To read more about his paper, click here.
On Thursday the 10th, Paula Wood-Borque delivered her presentation entitled “Using audiovisual materials in the EFL classroom: From multimodal analysis to teacher training”. More information about her paper can be found here.
