Our junior team members talk in highschools for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Under the motif of The International Day of Women and Girls in Science, celebrated on 11 February, our team members Ana Eugenia Sancho-Ortiz and Paula Wood-Borque attended two different high schools in Zaragoza  to impart seminars on the role of women in human sciences.

Together with María Abizanda, from the research group TYPH, Paula Wood-Borque visited the IES Picarral to discuss their approaches to science with the students of Bachillerato. Similarly, Ana E. Sancho-Ortiz and research fellow Laura Peiró (from PSYLEX) delivered some talks at different educational levels from the centres IES Pedro de Luna and  IES Grande Covián.

Overall, engaging with high school students was a truly rewarding experience, especially given their natural enthusiasm and brilliant insights into science, humanities, and future academic interests. Their perspectives highlighted the importance of fostering diversity and inclusion in academia, as well as for ensuring the recognition of women and humanities as science.
