InterGedi researchers take part in the mid-project meeting of the IMICLES thematic network

Our team members Dr Pilar Mur-Dueñas, Dr Vicky Gil and Dr Paula Wood-Borque attended a mid-project meeting held by the thematic network IMICLES, which stands for “Internationalization and Multilingualism: Strategies for the Integration of Content and Language in Higher Education”.

The IMICLES project, granted by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, is coordinated by Dr Noelia Ruiz-Madrid (Universitat Jaume I). The rationale of the project is driven by the need to provide an effective, coherent evidence-based internationalisation language policy.

This meeting took place on the afternoon of Monday 27th and on the morning of Tuesday 28th, April 2026. The main aim of this work session was for participants to gather, share and discuss the difficulties encountered throughout the data collection process. At present, the IMICLES thematic network, made up of 11 member Spanish universities, is finalising the milestones planned for the Phase 2 of their project.

Having finished the literature review, and designed, revised and piloted the questionnaires, IMICLES researchers are currently collecting data in connection with (1) language and internationalisation policies; (2) teaching in and of foreign languages; and (3) teacher training programmes, across all the 11 institutions comprising this thematic network.

At the next meeting, which will be held next July in Castelló (Spain), the IMICLES network will proceed to the co-analysis of all the data gathered. Looking forward to obtaining and disseminating the results in the near future!
