Our junior team members deliver a talk on dissemination of scientific knowledge in a highschool
Our PhD candidates Ana E. Sancho Ortiz and Paula Wood Borque delivered a talk at a highschool as part of the project Researchers go to School, in which researchers from different areas share their knowledge and experience with students.

In this talk, which took place on January 28th, Ana and Paula presented our SciDis project and focused on the concepts of dissemination and recontextualization of scientific knowledge through digital media (in particular, social media platforms such as Instagram and Tik Tok). They also talked about the conceptualisation of science beyond STEM disciplines, as well as the different softwares and tools that are used for research in linguistics (e.g. NVivo, AntConc, SmartEye).
Ana and Paula also conducted a collaborative activity in which students had to identify different strategies used in Instagram and Tik Tok publications to disseminate expert knowledge that had been recontextualised for non-expert audiences.
This was a great opportunity to present our project and research to a younger audience, who actively engaged in the discussion, sharing their views on science and social media dissemination.
