We run a workshop at CIFICE to use social media for research dissemination

To start off the year 2026, we organised a practical session on Friday, 16th of January at the Centro de innovación, Formación e Investigación en Ciencias de la Educacion (CIFICE). This 4-hour workshop was run by our team members Dr Daniel Pascual, Dr Pilar Mur-Dueñas and Dr Silvia Murillo-Ornat. The session was aimed at scholars, postgrad students and researchers wishing to give digital visibility to their work in English in an effective, creative and purposeful manner.

Drawing on our expertise and insights gained from our SciDis project so far, our workshop offered a programme designed with activities focused on a conscious exploitation of linguistic, pragmatic and visual strategies for research dissemination purposes.

Even though the session was mostly practical, we made room for on-site reflection. All the hands-on activities were underpinned by empirically-driven theoretical concepts and advice that our members explained and shared.

By the end of the session, participants had experimented and crafted their own social media posts and were ready to start engaging critically with peers’ online content.

Thanks to the attendants! It is always a pleasure to be able to exploit the findings of our work to help peer researchers meet present-day requirements.
