PROFILE online event: “A conversation with authors of Vol. 26 No. 1”
Our PhD student Ana E. Sancho-Ortiz was invited to join the online event “A conversation with authors of Vol. 26 No. 1”, organised by the journal PROFILE: Issues in Teachers’ Professional Development to discuss some of the topics addressed in the contributions to the volume. Sancho-Ortiz’s works appears in it as the author of “Analysing the functionality of Twitter for Science Dissemination in EFL Teaching and Learning”, an article in which she explored the potential of Twitter posts to foster the development of key competencies and 21st-century skills and the practice of integrated skills in the EFL classroom at secondary education.
As part of the discussion, the authors of the volume addressed topics of a diverse nature related to the teaching practice. Some of these were the role of the practicum in consolidating the professional identity of preservice teachers, and the factors that may strengthen or weaken the professional identity of teachers.
This event was a great opportunity to discover how experienced and novice researchers and teachers perceive the current educational scenario and the role they play in understanding its constant and rapid changes, especially as regards the teaching and learning of English as a second and as a foreign language.
